Going to Foothill was forced. Honestly it is more of my dad’s thing. I wanted to go to a school where I had more than two people to hang out with. I had no choice though. It was either here or Buena. Which, my dad would have been mad if I went there because it is “bad”. Honestly though he is just strict. He said I had to go here because I am good with computers. Which, this school really hasn’t helped me with them, only told me things I already know.
I was sad most of my friends didn’t get in. Now they are going to Ventura or Buena and I hardly see them. So I was pretty upset when I found out only two people I hung out with are here. My head knew Foothill was a better school, and one of my two best friends was going here. But my heart wanted to be with my group from last year, the group I spent middle school with. Even though I get crammed with homework every night, I am still happy I didn’t fight my dad to go to a different school. I knew I would have run into a lot more people I dislike then here at Foothill.
The research was pretty much what people told me. I went on the website a couple times and read there. I read how you need a computer, which I didn’t have and thanks to this school I do now, which I was excited about. I also read it was better than my super-smart cousin’s school which you have to have awesome grades to get into. So I had the pride of that. My grandparents were really proud I went to this school besides my brothers school, which is Oxnard but I wouldn’t have went there anyways due to me living with my dad. Though honestly the packet they first gave me when I got accepted I lost it the seconded day and never found it again. The only problem with Foothill is the homework which I never have really done. So, I think it’s a bit unfair.
This choice changed my life not just for the short walk, but the long run. Even though my dad choice it for me I know it will help me forever and I will be awesome doing so. Hopefully this will help me with the future and my collage, which I assume it will.
